Do
I really need lights underwater?
Absolutely. Water
absorbs light. Red and
orange light frequencies are lost first even at shallow depths. The
result of your video will be overly blue and flat from
lack
of shadow detail. Adding lights to your video system will bring
back the missing vibrant color and detail to take your video
from average to exceptional.
Light & Motion's
lighting systems seamlessly integrate into the mounting details
of the bottom of the housing. This integration provides a low-profile,
sleek and easy-to-dive system.
Three light
systems are available for your housing. Our Sunray 2000 LED system, the Sunray 1000 LED system and the Sunray Elite Halogen system.
If
you want to bring the Sun underwater, the Sunray 2000 lights utilize an 18-LED array (per light head!) to produce 2000 lumens of daylight-colored light with a
temperature of 6500° Kelvin. We've also added Light & Motion's Color Temperature Management System (CTMS), which allows you to thread external filters into the bezel to customize the color temperature of the light in a matter of seconds. Sunray lights
are the perfect choice when trying to balance your subject with
an ambient lit background. They provide the same daylight color
temperature as the sun which means your subject looks natural,
vibrant and well balanced. Pluggable connectors make setup and storage easy.
Also included is a multi-voltage charger that allows for true Smart
Charging.
The Sunray
1000 system includes a pair of
9 LED light heads, each emitting a staggering 1000 lumens of 6500k color-correct, white light. The Sunray 1000 also has Light & Motion's Color Temperature Management System (CTMS), which allows you to thread external filters into the bezel to customize the color temperature of the light in a matter of seconds. The Sunray 1000 also includes memory-free NiMH
batteries, underwater pluggable connectors and a multi-voltage
fast charger.
The Sunray Elite (Halogen) system allows
you to select one of three light levels. Featuring three output
levels, the 35w lights can dim from high to medium to low
power output levels allowing you to dim lighting for a quick
exposure adjustment. The lights feature
memory-free NiMH batteries, underwater pluggable connectors and
a multi-voltage
smart charger. Although these halogen lights are warmer in color
temperature, they are the more economical choice.
All
Light & Motion light systems feature proprietary peened aluminum
reflectors and clear glass lenses that produce an unobstructed, wide, flood-patterned beam. There is plenty of bright, yet balanced, fill light with no hot spots, which is ideal
for
video lighting.
