Founded on the drive to build a great portable dive light that could light up a reef 200 feet below the surface, Light & Motion has been producing innovative lighting and underwater imaging solutions systems since 1989. Light & Motion pioneered HID lights with clean, even beam patterns that have been the industry standard for video. In 2008, we launched the most advanced, brightest video lights in the industry. In 2009, we launched an all new housing platform that excels at making video easy with professional results. Our mission is to make taking great underwater video easy and fun for recreational divers while delivering the quality and control required by professional cinematographers in compact video systems.

Our success is due to our remarkable team who has pushed the company forward with relentless energy and enthusiasm. Together we have vertically integrated our business to drive quality and reliability when the trend has been to go "offshore." We've worked with our local suppliers to ensure that they're best in class so we can manufacture here — keeping our carbon footprint small, and staying close to the product.

Living and working at the edge of the Monterey Marine Sanctuary, we are careful to consider our impact on the marine environment and our community. Being a small business in the global economy is no easy task, but others have noticed the persistent innovation and idealism reflected in our business practices. We received Monterey County's "Green Business Award" And were awarded the California WRAP Award.
