Smart Grip Handles use an Infrared signal that transmits right through the housing to talk to the camcorder's infrared receiver just like your remote control talks to your television set. You get full electronic push button control at your fingertips without holes into the housing. Smart Grips are also switchable left to right, giving you redundant control if needed.
