On our trips we bring a Apple G4 laptop computer. After the dive, we download images from the camera to the computer for storing and viewing.
When traveling with a laptop is impractical, there are still other option. A hand-held storage device called a Digital Wallet stores images directly from your SmartMedia card. The Digital Wallet is made by Minds@Work and can store 3, 10 and even 20GB of data.
Iomega makes a similar product called the Fotoshow. The Fotoshow can store images from a SmartMedia card on an Iomega 100MB or 250MB zip disk and also operate as a traditional Zip drive with your computer. Fotoshow can operate as a stand-alone device to work in conjunction with your TV to help you organize, edit, enhance and display images without the use of a computer.

Sharing your Images
Now it's time to show all your friends and family just what it is about the ocean that keeps you diving.
After just a few dives, it may be challenging to keep your image library organized. There are several image management programs that provide thumbnail imaging which makes cataloging photos very easy.
Available from ACD Systems is ACDSee. ACDSee even adds a feature that allows you to view the metadata of a photo. Metadata is the information that tells you the f/stop, exposure, focal length etc. of a particular photo.
Another great program is Extensis Portfolio. Portfolio can even keep catalogs of photos if you store the photos on a removable drive.
